The very thing that sends my soul to the heights of heaven itself,
and keeps my body awake at night.

Give me your answer.
Hold my heart, as small and fragile as it may be, in the palm of your hand.
Hold it as if it were a child,
keeping it close to you,
keeping it safe from harm.
Hold it as if it were an egg.
Hold it softly and be sure to never let it go.
For if it was to drop, if it were to break on that cold ground that is the outside world, it could never be repaired.
Or spurn my heart.
Toss it and me to the side.
Cast it to the ground,
into the dark,
and leave me to hold myself in the cold,
in the loneliness of reality.
Leave me and never looked back.
Tell me I was foolish for ever having dreams of us together.

TomatoTomato? He asked me as I took a bite out of the dark crispy flesh of the wild pig he had prepared. He held the plump red vegetable outward to me and continued.
They say when eating heavy amounts of meat its always good to balance it out with some vegetables, best of all tomatoes. He said this with a welcoming smile. I thankfully declined his offer.
